Abstract: The 5th International Symposium on Symbiotic Nuclear Power Systems for 21st Century (ISSNP2013) was held in Beijing, China in November 22-24, 2013, with the main objective for the nuclear power of international arena to overcome the Fukushima Daiichi accident towards more symbiotic nuclear power for post-Fukushima era. There were seventeen invited presentations and ca. seventy technical papers at the ISSNP2013, the subject of which were mostly related with (i)lessens from Fukushima Daiichi accident, (ii)severe accident, (iii)digital I&C systems, (iv) human-machine interface, and (v) human factors engineering. This article provides the overview of the ISSNP2013 with giving condensed summaries of major invited presentations given by international experts.
