Brighten the Corner is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to ending homelessness one person at a time by making friends with homeless people, providing necessities such as nutrition, water, and clothing, and visiting them every week to share encouragement, hope, and assistance with accessing resources for shelter, affordable housing, and jobs. As an all-volunteer public charity serving homeless people on a weekly basis, Brighten the Corner provides hot meals, nutritious snack packs, clothes, shoes, socks, blankets, sleeping bags, and portable air mattresses to people experiencing homelessness. More importantly, the volunteers take time to listen and develop friendships. They call the homeless people by name and treat them with dignity and compassion. They share a smile and show that we care. The charity also offers to connect the unhoused people with other resources that can help get them back on their feet.
