I agree with this…in marriage. Not with any other sort of long-term relationship, no matter how committed you are.

In the same vein, if a husband loses his job and the wife is working full time, would you expect the husband to be financially independent? Come on, now. It’s marriage. I wouldn’t expect a good marriage to be one where you’re both completely independent of each other (financially and otherwise).
