Key Discipline Laboratory of Nuclear Safety and Simulation Technology, Harbin Engineering University, Harbin 150001, China (songyushou80@163.com).   Abstract: Gamma camera is a powerful tool to locate radioactive sources and contaminations in nuclear facilities. It is widely used in activities of decommission, decontamination, maintenance and emergency response of nuclear power plants (NPPs). In recent decades, especially after the Fukushima nuclear accident a big progress has been made for this technique. A brief review of the principles and characteristics of three predominant imaging approaches are presented.
