And I realized that Hera or other people might be talking about...manipulation?? I suppose being more intelligent could give someone an edge on manipulating another person, if they were inclined to do that in the first place. But manipulative people are not necessarily very smart, and smart people are not necessarily manipulative. There's really not much connection between those two, I would guess. (Criminals, for example, tend to be very manipulative; and they also tend to be quite a bit dumber than average.) But the main reason that manipulation did not occur to me as one possible interpretation for dominating someone with brainpower is simply that I *detest* manipulative people. A tendency to manipulate people indicates a lack of honesty and respect for the other person; and I'd also say it reflects a lack of self-respect as well. I've never been inclined towards using manipulative tactics; I think I would lose all self-respect and integrity if I ever resorted to something that underhanded and dishonest. Also, I can pick up almost immediately on someone else's attempts to manipulate me, and I generally form an intense and instantaneous dislike of that person. Anyway, I certainly *hope* you were not talking about manipulation in the context of finding it desirable to be dominated by a smarter man. Because manipulation seems downright dishonest, disrespectful, contemptuous and even abusive. I cannot imagine it having any place at all in a loving and respectful relationship. Not even friendships should ever be manipulative, let alone a marriage.
